Let’s be clear about that straight away. We don’t think comparing accountants on price alone is a good idea.
A good accountant can save you time, prevent mistakes, and help you make better decisions. That has value. Sometimes a higher price is easy to justify.
But a high bill should be explainable
We regularly see business owners who don’t know exactly what they’re paying for each month. The amount gets debited, the bookkeeping “must be fine”, and once a year annual accounts arrive.
We’ve also seen business owners switch who paid their previous accountant more than three times our monthly fee. That alone isn’t proof that the previous accountant was too expensive.
The real question is: what did the business owner get in return?
Compare service, not just money
Look, for example, at what’s included in the price: processing the bookkeeping, VAT returns, year-end work, income or corporate tax, payroll, interim contact, flagging issues, advice, corrections, and availability.
Also look at what’s not included. A low monthly fee can still become expensive if every phone call, every correction, or every extra document is billed separately.
Transparency prevents surprises
We think you should be able to get a reasonable idea of your monthly price upfront. That’s why we built our monthly price calculator.
It gives an indication based on the same starting points we use for a real quote. Not a teaser price with hidden surcharges afterwards, but a realistic first comparison.
Price is only one part of the choice
If you’ve been happy for years, get quick answers, understand your figures, and know your bookkeeping is well monitored, a higher price can suit you fine.
But do you pay a lot and still end up with questions, mistakes, or silence? Then it’s only logical you want to know if it can be different.
Comparing is fine
You don’t need to cancel your current accountant first to look at another price or way of working. Calculate our monthly price, ask your questions, and put both situations side by side.
Then you decide for yourself what the best combination of price, quality, and trust is.
Frequently asked questions
What does an accountant cost per month?
That depends on legal structure, amount of bookkeeping, filings, payroll, and desired service. Use our monthly price calculator for a first indication.
Is a more expensive accountant better?
Not automatically. A higher price can fit well with more extensive service or specialist knowledge, but the value should be explainable.
Can I compare your price without switching?
Yes. The calculator is free to use and a conversation doesn’t commit you to anything.
Curious what your bookkeeping would roughly cost with us?
Calculate your monthly price for free, then compare not just the amount, but especially what you get for it.
